Is the screw-holding capacity of particle board sufficient?

Is the screw-holding capacity of particle board sufficient?

Screw-holding capacity cannot be judged by material alone; the location also matters: at repeatedly stressed points such as hinges and slides, it depends on thickened panels, embedded fittings, or reinforcement strips rather than overall panel thickness. Shelves with larger spans require a central vertical panel or additional support. If the environment is humid, material selection should also be considered.
