What should I do if a handle on whole-house custom furniture comes loose?
Don't just tighten a loose handle right away—first check how it is fixed. If the screw goes through from the inside of the door panel, open the door, find the corresponding screw, and tighten it. If it is a drill-free adhesive handle, once loose it generally needs to be re-glued or fixed with screws. When tightening, be careful not to strip the threads; if stripped, use a slightly thicker screw, or insert a small wooden wedge into the hole before tightening. For door panels with finishes such as PET or thermoformed film, do not overtighten the screws, as the finish can crack under pressure. Handles that frequently come loose often indicate screws that are too short or insufficient screw-holding strength of the board; adding a washer can distribute the load. Deciding handle positions and hardware quality in advance during installation is less troublesome than repeated repairs afterward.
