Is it reasonable to pay extra for glass doors in whole-house customization?
Whether it is reasonable to pay extra for glass doors depends on what the extra charge covers. Replacing standard double-melamine door panels with PET or vacuum-formed door panels already involves a price difference, and glass doors also require aluminum frames, hinges, and tempered glass, so the cost is indeed somewhat higher. However, be careful not to accept a vague bundled price—ask clearly whether it is a door panel upgrade fee or an additional hardware charge. On our side, door panels can be selected in double-melamine, PET, vacuum-formed, baked enamel, and solid wood veneer; glass doors are a separate configuration, and the quote is calculated based on the actual door style and quantity. We suggest first confirming whether the cabinet body portion priced by projected area already includes door panels, and then discussing the glass door surcharge, to avoid duplicate charges.
