Which parts of whole-house customization should not be skimped on?

The things you should never skimp on in whole-house customization are the environmental grade of the cabinet body boards and the hardware. For boards, choose at least ENF grade; particle board, plywood, eco board, and OSB all work, but do not lower the environmental grade. Among the options HENF, ENF, E0, FAS, and F4 star, lock in ENF if the budget is tight. For hardware, Blum, Hettich, DTC, Higold, and Hegu are all fine; do not use off-brand hinges and slides, as repairs later are the most troublesome. PUR edge banding or laser edge banding is also worth keeping budget for. Cabinet bodies come with a ten-year warranty, and the product is returnable if not environmentally compliant, provided you did not cut too many corners when choosing materials.
