Can the deposit for whole-house customization be refunded?

Whether the deposit can be refunded depends on whether what you signed was a "deposit" (earnest money) or a "prepayment"; the legal implications differ. Generally, before measurement and drawing, it is at the intention stage, and there is more room for negotiation; once the order has been placed and scheduled for production and the panels have been cut, refunding becomes troublesome. On our side, on-site measurement is usually arranged within 1–7 days, and the processing cycle is typically 15–45 days, so the earlier you communicate, the better. It is advisable to first check the contract for refund clauses, then discuss with the merchant, and not delay until the production stage.
