How thick should door panels be for whole-house customization?
Door panel thickness is commonly 18mm, the standard choice for most custom cabinets, offering sufficient stability and good hardware compatibility. For tall cabinet doors or floor-to-ceiling doors, 18mm may be too flexible; consider thicker panels or adding straighteners. Thermoformed and lacquered door panels vary in thickness due to different processes. Our door panels are available in melamine, PET, thermoformed, lacquered, and real wood veneer finishes, with hardware from Blum, Hettich, DTC, Higold, and Hegu. Thicker door panels are not always better; they must match the cabinet body and hinge load capacity, so confirm together during measurement.
