Question: How thick should the back panel be for whole-house customization?

Answer: Don't just look at the number for back panel thickness—first consider where the cabinet is used. For wardrobes, bookcases, and similar items fixed against the wall, a 5mm back panel is sufficient, but note that it is usually installed in a groove, so moisture resistance and load-bearing are average; if making a tatami or TV cabinet that needs to bear weight or has a gap from the wall, starting from 9mm is recommended. For our cabinet bodies, the panel material can be particle board, plywood, eco board, or OSB, and the back panel thickness can be matched to the cabinet body structure. During measurement, the technician will confirm the wall flatness and internal/external corners, then decide the finishing method; a back panel that is too thin can easily become hollow when the wall is uneven.
