The most easily overlooked aspects of whole-house customization
What is most easily overlooked is not the cabinets themselves, but the details between the cabinets and the wall. Wall flatness, kickboards, internal and external corners—if not confirmed during measurement, they will end up as a gap after installation. Also, the water supply and drainage positions for the kitchen sink, gas and socket locations, and the range hood exhaust path must be decided at the plumbing and electrical stage; changing them later is costly. In addition, quotations usually do not include removal of existing cabinets; if old cabinets need to be removed, say so in advance and confirm separately based on the site. Worktop cutouts must also be processed according to the actual dimensions of the sink and hob—don't wait until installation to find they don't match.
