What is the difference between PUR edge banding and EVA edge banding?
The most obvious difference between PUR edge banding and EVA edge banding lies in the adhesive and heat resistance. EVA is a hot-melt adhesive: low cost and easy to work with, but it tends to soften and come unstuck under high temperature and high humidity, and the edge seams will darken over time. PUR is a reactive polyurethane adhesive that becomes irreversible after curing, with clearly stronger water and heat resistance and a finer glue line. On our side, the edge banding process can be chosen as PUR or laser (F17), and once you arrive at the factory you can observe the cutting, edge banding, and side-hole processes (F01). If the budget is tight and the environment is dry, EVA is sufficient; near kitchens and bathrooms or in humid southern regions, PUR is more reliable.
