Should door panels be flat or molded?
Whether flat or molded, first consider where the cabinet is and who uses it. Flat door panels have clean lines, are easy to maintain, and have fewer gaps that collect dust—suitable for modern minimalist styles, and worry-free in kitchens with heavy grease and smoke. Molded door panels have raised and recessed lines, giving more visual layering—suitable for American, French, and light luxury styles—but the grooves easily trap dust and need frequent wiping. In addition, molded door panels place higher demands on the board material and craftsmanship, and the price usually goes up. For edge banding we can use PUR edge banding or laser edge banding, making flat door panels come out cleaner. It is recommended to decide the style first and then the door type, not the other way around.
