Cost differences in edge banding processes
For edge banding, the main differences between PUR and laser are the glue line, water resistance, and equipment investment. PUR edge banding has a fine glue line and good moisture resistance, making it suitable for cabinet bodies near kitchens and bathrooms; laser edge banding has almost no glue line and offers better appearance and durability, but equipment and process costs are higher, so it is usually used in high-requirement door panels or upgraded configurations. For our edge banding, we can use PUR or laser; the specific choice should be determined based on the board material, door panel type, and usage environment—more expensive is not necessarily more suitable.
