Which is better: having cabinets built on-site by a carpenter or custom-made at a factory?

For carpenter on-site building versus factory customization, the key is edge banding and precision. On-site cabinet building is flexible, but edge banding is mostly done by hand; on the factory side, PUR edge banding or laser edge banding can be used, with cutting, edge banding, and side holes all completed on the production line.
