Edge Banding and Hardware: Measurement, Lead Time and Warranty Explained

Edge banding and hardware are the two details most often overlooked in custom furniture, yet they affect durability the most. Edge banding decides whether a board edge resists moisture and looks clean; hardware decides how long doors and drawers last and how smoothly they work.

1. Three types of edge banding: ABS, PVC and wood veneer.
ABS and PVC are the common options; wood veneer banding is used where the edge should match natural wood-veneer door panels.

2. Two edge-banding processes: PUR and laser.
PUR uses polyurethane adhesive for strong bonding and resistance to heat and moisture, and is the current mainstream choice. Laser edge banding leaves no glue line and is a high-end process with a higher price.

3. Base hardware determines durability.
Base hardware includes hinges, drawer runners, wardrobe rails, handles, corner brackets and cam-and-dowel connectors. The brands we use include Blum, Hettich, DTC, Higold and HeGu.

4. Functional hardware determines the experience.
Our functional hardware includes trouser racks, dish baskets, spice pull-outs, rotating shoe racks, lift-up wardrobe rails, push-openers, LED strips and glass-door hinges.

5. Measurement, lead time and delivery.
We have our own installation team and can usually arrange an on-site measurement within 1–7 days (we will confirm the exact time with you). Production starts after payment: the standard lead time is 15–45 days (the same range applies to all materials and finishes; the exact lead time is subject to formal confirmation). Delivery from the factory to the customer address usually takes 1–3 days (the exact delivery time follows the project schedule).

6. Demolition scope.

The quotation does not include removal of the existing cabinets.

7. Environmental standards and warranty.
Our factory cabinet materials cover the HENF, ENF, E0, FAS and F4-star environmental standards. Cabinet bodies carry a ten-year warranty, and products that do not meet environmental standards can be returned. Water damage, damp conditions and man-made damage are not covered during the warranty period.

8. How to work with us.

The factory provides OEM/ODM and processing of customer-supplied materials — customers may purchase raw materials and have them processed at our factory — and we work with decoration companies, interior designers, design studios, custom-furniture dealers and engineering projects.
